Hops, Follows, and Tag Alongs, Oh My!

It's time for another Book Blogger Hop, courtesy of Crazy for Books!

Book Blogger Hop

This week's question is:

"What book are you most looking forward to seeing published in 2011?  Why are you anticipating that book?"

I've already featured this one before as a "Waiting On" Wednesday choice, but I'm going to keep singing it's praises until the world realises what a damn good author Steven Erikson is. The Crippled God is the 10th (and final) book of the epic Malazan Book of the Fallen saga. Epic in scope and absolutely steeped in mythology, it's a series that breaks all the rules.

It's also time for the Friday Follow, courtesy of Parajunkee's View!

This week's question is:

What is/was your favorite subject in school?

Although I majored in English at University, I'd still have to say history (especially ancient history) was my favourite. If were to ever win the lottery, I'd spend at least a year exploring the history of the world, from the dinosaur badlands of Alberta, to the pyramids of Egypt, Stonehenge, the Pantheon, and more.

The 18 & Over Book Blogger Tag Along is courtesy of Bitten by Paranormal Romance!

As always, I urge you to hop around to some new blogs, tag along with some new friends, and find some great new reviews to follow. I always find something new to delight me!

  4. Thanks for stopping by my place. It's not all beefcakey and babey yet (I'm on a waiting list to have my place all sexified), but I'm pleased that you're diggin' it. And what is it with the history thing? I was NEVER good at that and all the blogs I've been visting have chosen history as the fav subject of choice. I'm definitely missing something here. LOL

  5. Oooh.. the Crippled God looks interesting. I just may have to check that author out. I've been into books with a lot of fighting and bloodshed lately. LOL. Fantastical & historical elements are always a plus for me. *grins*

  10. The book I’m most expecting in 2011 is by an author I crossed off my “Favorite author” list.

He’s back on that list now.

Who’s the author? Raymond Feist? What’s the book? A Kindgom Besieged.

  11. Hi! I'm a new follower and new to follow Friday.

My favorite subject was history. I know some people get bored of it, but I was always fascinated by past events, especially because you can learn so much from them.

  12. Hi! New follower here, stopping by for the 18+ tag along. Thanks for introducing me to Erikson. I'm going to have to check out the first book in the series!

Hope you have a great weekend!

  13. Yay! Another Friday which means... Woohoo Weekend! Oh.. yeah, and finding awesome new blogs to follow. =) You read such a wide selection of books, I can't wait to browse through some of your past reviews. Maybe you'll convince me to step outside of my comfort zone a little more often.

  14. Hey Sally! Stoppin by on the 18+. Thanks for visiting earlier and have a great weekend!

  15. Yay for ancient history! I used to teach Ancient and Medieval Literature (with lots of history of course), and I loved it!

  16. Hello, We seem to both love the Malazan books! I'm a huge fan, and I've decided to re-read the series entirely from the beginning before I get Book 10.
The nuances are way too subtle to grasp from a first read :)

I keep seeing you around, and I'm sure I'll see you a lot more - I'm following you now :)

  17. Would love to travel and soak up all the history of the ancient world!

    Have a great weekend!
